How to be more confident

There are so many ways that we need confidence in our life. Confidence isn’t something you gain overnight the more small things you have in your life the less you. Here are my tips on how to be more confident.

A person with more confidence will take more risks and be able to achieve them.

I often got told that people can’t hear me because my voice was too quiet, I always looked like I was going to cry, I always got judged for small things I did or didn’t do. Even though I had so much support, I focused on the external negativity that I received and that really affected my confidence.  

I remember being someone who was always pleasing other people. So that is just how I got by. I never really did anything for myself it was mostly being there for others and telling myself I was okay. I didn’t have the “time” to do anything for myself because to me other people were more important. I was happy and content this way too – until I wasn’t. When I was reflecting on this and I complained a lot about other people in my life but really this just meant there was something I was insecure about within myself.

1. Know what you want for yourself

The best way to be more confident is by knowing more about yourself.

So the first thing you can do is know how you want to feel and where you want to stand in this world. For example, I recently started to be aware of the negativity I held towards other people. So my wake up call was to let go of this feeling towards others and focus on just having a love for everyone. I knew to do this I had to fully commit to myself.

2. Don’t be afraid of losing people

When we change we make people around us very uncomfortable it’s hard for them to accept so they become negative. 

If people react like this to you remind yourself of the value of your own journey. If you truly connect and resonate with what you want to do then it gets easier to let go of what people might think of you too.

3. Push yourself and get out of your comfort zone.

Leaving your comfort zone is one of the best way to be more confident.

I always get told I come across as really confident, but there was a point where I was too afraid to ask for ketchup in a restaurant. It’s important to have people around you who encourage you to step out of these comfort zones and when basic things get easier bigger things get easier. I truly believe we have complete control of so many things in our life.

We often just get too scared and let the world win and let the world take control of what we feel. The biggest way to feel more confident is to take back that control.  So what if you stutter, so what if you say the wrong word, so what if you forget your point. It doesn’t matter if things don’t go “perfectly”  you are the only one that puts these expectations on yourself so you’re the only one that can take them away too. 

4. Fake it until you make it.

Every time I record a video I have this anxiousness in my stomach because it’s scary. But I am also so grateful for this too. I’m grateful to experience this and still have an opportunity to share what I want with the world. Understand that everyone has different reactions to different things. Spend time to learn more about your small struggles and work on those first.

Remember that you are here with a purpose, everyone has their own purpose so own it. Let that be what guides you every day. I hope these tips were helpful on how to be more confident.
